Terms of Service

Last updated: September 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OptiField ("OptiField," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our website, signing up for an OptiField account, or interacting with a business's AI agent through our platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

OptiField is an AI agent that handles inbound customer leads end-to-end over SMS text message — contacting, qualifying, booking, and rescheduling appointments on behalf of home service businesses (initially HVAC contractors in California and Nevada). Business staff supervise the agent: they can monitor conversations, get notified when the agent escalates something it can't handle, and take over a conversation manually at any time.

OptiField's AI agent currently operates over SMS only. Inbound phone calls are forwarded to the business's own staff; the AI agent does not answer or make voice calls. OptiField does not process payments between businesses and their customers.

2. AI-Generated Communications & Limitations

Messages you receive from a business through OptiField may be generated automatically by our AI agent rather than written by a person. The agent is designed to:

  • Always identify itself as an automated assistant at the start of a new conversation.
  • Never quote firm, final pricing — it may share a standard estimate range only if the business has configured one; otherwise it will let you know a technician will provide a quote in person.
  • Never make warranty, legal, or liability claims on a business's behalf.
  • Never guarantee an arrival time window tighter than what the business has configured.
  • Escalate to a human staff member rather than guess, whenever a request falls outside what it can handle.

Like any automated system, our AI agent can make mistakes or misunderstand a message. It is not a substitute for a licensed technician's on-site assessment, and any scheduling, pricing, or technical information it provides should be treated as preliminary until confirmed by the business directly.

3. SMS & Text Messaging Terms

By providing your phone number and interacting with a business over SMS through OptiField, you may receive automated text messages related to scheduling and your service request. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies based on your conversation. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

You can opt out of receiving messages at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message — this immediately and unconditionally stops all further automated messaging to that number. You can resume messaging at any time by replying START, UNSTOP, or YES.

4. Accounts & Billing

If you sign up for an OptiField account on behalf of a business, you're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity that occurs under your account. Subscription billing is processed through Stripe; we do not store your raw payment card details on our own servers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use OptiField to send unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or unsolicited messages, or to interfere with the normal operation of the service. We may suspend or terminate access for use that violates these Terms.

6. Limitation of Liability

OptiField is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OptiField is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including errors, delays, or miscommunications produced by the AI agent.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use OptiField after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
